I would like to ask each of you what was your first thought when you saw the Flagler Auditorium? It might not have been much different than mine at the first glance. A a high school facility, they could not do professional shows? Much to my amazement and delight was I wrong! Yes they are professional shows. I have to admit that was not until several years ago that I made that realization. I decided to join the Board and devote my time and energy because this facility is such a win, win for our community. The staff and volunteers do so much to make the auditorium very successful. The Flagler Auditorium Governing Board has worked very hard to support arts in education and get the word out about this great facility. Another fact that is not well known in the community is the master class interaction that the professionals conduct while at the Auditorium with our high school students. This is an experience and knowledge that the students would never be able to receive if we did not have this very unusual arrangement with the school system. The Governing Board of the Auditorium brings professional shows to our community whom work with and educate our Flagler County students. A very unique experience . I thank all of you for being here this evening. Please tell all your friends and family about this awesome facility. Please consider becoming a Patron and supporting the arts. Let us help the arts in our community, along with investing in arts in education for the youth of our area. It is an honor and pleasure to be the President for the 2012-2013 season, and with the support of people like you, the staff, and volunteers we will continue to be one of the most unique auditoriums’ in the country.
